Introduced PC Dave Woodward

Dave thanked Clough Hall School for loan of video equipment. Apologised for the Police Consultative Committee unable to attend tonight's meeting - but would hope for a re-scheduled visit in January/February 2007.

Dave, started the evening by mentioning the Priority Action Group - which identify areas of disorder. Butt Lane, unfortunately, is one of 4 areas locally, that are identified as problems. Funding for mosquito, campaign in park,
patrols and problems by Bargain Booze.

Dave's talk tonight was the ‘use of and effects of drugs' The video has also been shown to Year 8 - 12/13 year old pupils at Schools.

The video showed Class A, B and C drugs - what they looked like, how they are sold and effects they can have.
It was a very interesting topic, worthy of being shown to the Schools, and Graham thanked Dave Woodward for arranging this, at such short notice.

Graham introduced Rev. Paul Howard - Rector of St. Martins Talke

Rev. Howard was tonight, wearing ‘a different hat' - and gave a really interesting talk on the Credit Action Charity - a Debt counselling charity. Outlining that we were at the present time living in a ‘debt culture' and explained many ways that we could balance our accounts better. Anyone requiring any information - please contact Graham or a Committee member, who would put them in contact with Rev. Howard.

Sylvia Burgess

Sylvia had organised, in the past, a 1940's night at the Town Hall, which was very successful.
Herself and two friends have decided to form the 'North Staffs. 1940's Remembrance Association' and will be holding the next evening, where proceeds will go to Donna Louise Trust on 10th November 06. There will be a Live Band, tickets are £7.00. For more information - contact Sylvia Burgess.
