USEFUL DATES FOR 2006
At the request of Members at our Meeting on the 17th January a list of useful dates for 2006 was circulated with the Minutes. These dates cover :-
• 31a Westmorland - Surgeries
• Clough Hall School - CU Clean Up Kidsgrove Campaign
• Clough Hall Residents - Litter Picks
• Clough Hall Residents - Association Meeting Dates
• Talke Pits Resident Association – Meeting Dates

In respect of CHRA Litter Picks, Chairman pointed out the following. We have identified 9 Green Areas which will benefit from Litter Picks. The ones to tackle first are :-
Wooded area between the back of Park Avenue and the Football Club, leading down to the Park. Litter Pick planned for Sunday 26/02/2006
Clough Hall Park. Litter Pick planned for Sunday19/03/2006
Wooded area behind Clough Hall Road planned for Sunday 02/04/2006
Litter pick took place on the 26/02, 26 residents took part and it is a credit to them for turning up in such numbers, working hard to clear the Woods and also Clough Hall Park. Some 45/50 bags of litter were collected together with an assortment of various forms of rubbish.
Chairman also pointed out that he had held a Meeting with Steve Middlehurst and Mick Cook-Parks & Open Spaces, which took place on Monday the 30th January 2006. A number of areas were viewed and the undernoted agreed. The brook in the Woods, Top End, will be cleaned out with a digger, trees pruned back, dead wood removed, and the Fly Tipped rubbish removed. Mick Cook will liase and advise Chairman when this will happen.
The Lake, separating Park Avenue and Kinnersly, the Borough Council will bring in an outside Environmental Company to determine what is causing the pollution and will advise in due course. In terms of the Silt in the Lake it is estimated that some 200 tons minimum, would require removing, cost of this will be some £30,000. If we can organise a “project/campaign” relevant to this area, Steve Middlehurst will assist us with an application for Lottery funding.

RESULTS OF QUESTIONAIRE
Chairman thanked members for completing questionnaire issued at previous Meetings .The results are very positive and will be put to good use by the Committee.
