MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 18th October 2005

This Meeting classed as an OPEN MEETING, the Police advertised the Meeting in the Sentinel on Monday the 17th October.
IAN ATHERTON ( STAFFORDSHIRE YOUTH SERVICES) 7.30 pm
- Ian gave a brief talk in respect of existing Youth Facilities in the Area and also Drug Awareness.
In respect of current Youth Facilities the attached Listing details what is currently available in the Kidsgrove and Talke area. Ian advised that the Clough Hall Youth Club based at the School, now, over the three nights a week it is open, caters for some 200. These Youth facilities cover several topics, eg, Democracy/ ASBO knowledge Etc.
In the case of Drugs Awareness, Leaflets were left "The Score Facts about Drugs", these were made available for Residents to take. This is an excellent Leaflet, written in plain easily understood English, and copies will also be made available for Residents to collect at future Meetings.
POLICE CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE 7.45 PM
- At this point in time the Meeting was handed over to the Police Consultative Committee. This was a Police Meeting, they took their own Minutes.
Main Points of Interest were : -
In the view of Inspector Sherratt there should be a minimum of 12 extra PCSO'S to cover our area including Talke by 2008, £80 fixed fines for Firework discretions, ideally would like to have 8 Community Police Officers in our area in the future.

- Alison gave a short talk on Intergenerational Mentors which are desperately required at Clough Hall School. Leaflets were left to explain what is involved and a request made for volunteers. Lady Resident asked at the end of the Meeting for Laura Sutton's telephone number and will ring Laura over the Weekend.
There is a need for volunteers to help, we are talking about helping a child to complete the transfer from Primary to Secondary School, this will involve half a day a week at the School and is a commitment. Alison left details at the Meeting, any interest, please contact Laura Sutton.

- Chairman thanked the Residents for their attendance and also the members who helped with the recent leaflet distribution.
- Chairman updated the Members with the changes at Committee Level. Suzanne Stanier resigned , replaced with Laura Sutton. Also advised that Tony Mottram Co-Opt'd to the Committee as a Non Voting Member. Tony will assist Laura in the creation of a Sub-Committee to work with the School and also help to revitalise the links with Neighbourhood Watch. Tony will also assist with Write Ups for the Kidsgrove News.
- 31A Westmorland. Chairman read out recently received letter and will arrange a further Meeting with them.
- Update provided in terms of the Applications we have completed for Grants. Local Members Initiative Grant-Council, Green Grant-Council, thanks given to PC David Woodward for providing supporting letters for these two Grants. Also written to the Robbie Williams Foundation, no reply as yet.
- Retirement needs Planning. Sufficient interest shown, Chairman will organise Speakers for next year.
- Bodymech and SK Auto's have offered a 10% discount on any Mechanical or Bodywork jobs through the Winter, offer ends End of March2006, business card must be produced at the Garage.
- Strata Windows. Brian Collis organised an Offer of 30% discount for all CHRA Members, this offer will apply to best quality PVC.
- Clough Hall School
Several meetings have taken place at the School. We are beginning to make progress, the creation of the Sub-Committee, Laura & Tony, will help, this will shortly be beefed up by a Member of School Staff and at our request 3 pupils.
Sensory Garden. School have been successful in securing Lottery Grant and are looking for volunteers to assist, volunteer form provided for any Member to complete if they wish to participate.
Community Help. This project is being organised by Angela Travers from the School and involves Pupils from the School visiting Residents in the Community, particularly the elderly and helping with clearing rubbish, gardening Etc. This would have to be done under supervision. Have invited Angela to our November Meeting to explain in detail.
Forthcoming Events at the School. Music Carol Concert-December 15th-7.30pm.Please contact Mr Vince Gally for details and to arrange tickets.
Seasons Greetings Drama-December 7th/8th-7.00pm-Drama Studio. Contact Mrs Anne Evans at School for details and Tickets.

SECRETARYS REPORT-KATH VILES 9.20pm
- Update provided in respect of the visit to the Neighbourhood Watch Conference at Yarnfield-Attended By- Kath Viles,Tina Evans(Secretary Talke Pitts RSA and Graham Sutton. Excellent and very informative day.
- Our understanding is that Car Boot Sales in Clough Hall Park have ceased, there were a considerable number of objections from Town Councillors.
- Friends Of Bathpool-Two of our Members Peter&Hazel Hammond are joining the Committee of this campaign and can provide us with updates in the future.
- CU Clean Up Kidsgrove Campaign. Clough Hall School Initiative, working with The Borough Council and the Police. Form available for Volunteers. Two days this year are 15th November and the 13th December.
- Clough Hall Litter Picks. Form available for volunteers. These Litter Picks will be organised by ourselves, start date will depend on our Green Grant Request.
Mick Cook from the Borough Council telephoned Chairman on the 13th October, when we are ready for our first litter pick, he will visit and where necessary arrange transport to take away collected litter.
- Our next Meeting 29/11 will be a free buffet. Bar will also be open. Volunteers requested to help with the Food.
- CLOUGH HALL SCHOOL CHARITY DINNER.
Two provisional dates have been organised 19th January and the 26th January. The Meal will cost £12.95 a head, Minimum of 30 people Maximum of 43. If we can organise sufficient numbers we would receive back in our Funds £5 a head. List of names requested.
- Kidsgrove News.There will be an article in the next edition of this magazine explaining what our constitutional objectives are, and, providing details of our next few Meetings. We intend to make this a regular feature.
MINUTES OF MEETING 13th SEPTEMBER 2005 were accepted as a true and accurate record.
PC DAVID WOODWARD
David responded to a question from previous Meetings in respect of the newly installed Camera's on Kidsgrove Bank. For our next meeting on the 29/11/2005 he will bring along the official reason for the implementation of these camera's.
David also advised that the Laser Hand Held Speed Monitors were temporarily out of action for re-calibration, these would be back in use before our next meeting.
Also The Kidsgrove News was referred to in so much as David will be looking at putting an article in each months Edition, so indeed will CHRA.
Chairman thanked Residents for their support and closed the Meeting.
